St Thomas!

Despite the challenges of traveling (alone) with a baby, we couldn't resist taking our good friends' offer to let us stay at their place in St Thomas. It was a great time, and Eliza was even pretty good on the plane, making great friends with the flight attendants and the people in the row behind us.

Here we are having our first meal in St Thomas. Eliza definitely prefers the breakfast bar to a high chair

Eliza was quite obsessed with the stray cat Amaretto that the Fosters feed...Amaretto seemed less interested in Eliza

Off to the beach! Eliza's first time in a swimsuit

She wasn't a big fan of the ocean...but learned to love the pool a bit more each day

St Thomas was fun, there was lots of peek-a-boo with the towel, and saying hi to just about every islander, tourist, and iguana we met. A good first time leaving the country!

Grandparents in Somerville

A couple visits from the grandparents earlier in February. But first we had to bundle up Eliza and try out the swing for the first time (I guess she's still a little small for it)

Here she is showing off the beautiful sweater given to her from one of her mom's classmates, Danilo.

Next was a visit from Grammy and Grandpa J.

It looks like Eliza is a little more attentive when her grandparents read than when her parents do.

In between all that, Eliza wore her pink bear suit, courtesy of Diem:

Next up, Eliza's first time on a plane, and in a pool, and in the ocean...

Christmas Part 2 - Meet the Stones

A few weeks late we were lucky enough to get the entire Stone family together, just like old times, but this time there was one new guest who decided that having 18 people around her couldn't be more fun.

Eliza had met almost everyone before, but it was a long time ago. So she was pretty excited to re-meet her great-grandfather.

She also couldn't have been happier to meet her second cousins for the first time.

And the whole family for that matter...

Almost forgot this bonus pic from Gramps!

Once we got home we saw our first real snow. Future posts will probably have her in her snowsuit, but for now we watched from inside

Christmas, Part 1

The first Christmas was a lot of fun, with way too many toys for Eliza, one trip to the clinic on Christmas morning, and many many smiles, even if she had no idea what was going on. Our second Christmas in Madison to come soon!

Annual family shot in Brooklyn!

A few days later, Eliza met her new friend Adelaide. Although they were the same size, Eliza is ~6 months older so may have treated Adelaide a bit like her dollie.

Halloween and Turkey Day

Sorry for the lack of posts, it's been a little nutty around here. The milestones seem to come almost daily and the big excitement lately has been the addition of solid (and I use that term loosely) foods, just in time to chow down on Thanskgiving

We're already getting excited for Christmas, Eliza doesn't know what's coming, all she knows is there is suddenly a tree in our entryway.

First Fall, and 6 months Already!

Eliza had her 6 month birthday this past week, so a good time for a long awaited update! It's been a busy month for Eliza, who between learning to roll over and doing lots of (very loud) "talking" she saw some old friends (like her Great Aunt Beth and future husband Ian) and met some new ones (like Diem and her Great-Godmother Silvia)

The rest of her time has been spent with new toys (like her Jumperoo and new high chair), and putting up with her parents putting her in silly outfits.

Since I have the rest of her life to embarrass her (as I'm pretty sure that is the primary role that a father has to play with a daughter), I'll avoid the classic bathtime shots and instead leave you with these two. I have a feeling the next post will contain some Halloween pictures, so see you then!
