Family Vacation!

After her parents missed it last year (something about moving to a new state), Dave's whole family got together for a long weekend in the Berkshires. With an aunt, two uncles, and two grandparents to give her lots of attention, Eliza was (nearly) all smiles.

The uncles were much more comfortable holding Eliza this time around. Fact that she's nearly 2X as heavy may have something to do with it!

Not pictured here...Eliza going for her 3.5 hours of walk naps a day. Considering we were at a ski resort, we all got major quad workouts.

Someone needs to tell Eliza's dad that she's not actually going to start walking on her own soon...it's not stopping him from training her though!

More July Fun

Eliza has kept her parents pretty darn busy this month. All the while learning new tricks and growing up a little each day.

Here's Eliza (bottom middle) at her last day of her New Beginnings class. Two of the other babies there had the exact same birthday!

Tummy time!

After trying bouncy chair after bouncy chair and swing after swing, we finally found a winner.

Eliza sits in front of her favorite paintings. Painted by her great-grandmother Bunny, she smiles almost every time she sees them.

She's getting bigger, but she still likes to be swaddled tightly for her naps.

Lounging upstairs at Grammy and Grandpa J's on a hot summer day.

And lounging with Grandpa J

July 4th weekend

We like to do up the 4th of July weekend in Madison. Eliza seemed to enjoy (read: sleep through) the concert on the green including the cannons during 1812 Overture, and the fireworks.

Eliza got to meet Kristy, Noel, and the kids. I think she'll be looking up to them for a long time (literally and figuratively)

Auntie Leah got a turn with the Moby...
...which probably protected Eliza better than even a lobster bib would.

A first major holiday gave Eliza the first chance to dress up accordingly...

Grammy's Retirement Party

Here's a few shots from last weekend where we celebrated Grammy's retirement after nearly 40 years in the same school district, with a party in Middletown and a brunch in Madison. At the party itself, Eliza shocked us and made us very happy by sleeping the entire time! She got a lot of attention, but didn't seem to notice.

Afterwards, we went to Aunt Sarah's house where she was a little more interactive, while getting to meet her great aunts and uncles Judy (below), Sue, Ed, and Carl, as well as her great grandfather (which I'm kicking myself for not having a picture of!)

Eliza says "Congrats, Grammy!"

The next morning was brunch at Grammy and Grandpa J's...Eliza had fun for a while but then got tired so we strapped her into the Moby with Aunt Sarah, and everyone was happy.

Finally, we went down to Papi and Meme's house for Saturday and Sunday, where Eliza got to know her grandfather a little better.

BONUS PICS because I have been delinquent:

Up next: July 4th! Which if you don't know Cam's family well, is kind of a big deal...

Meme's Birthday and Dance Show

The fun continued in Madison for another weekend. Though, Eliza may be too cool for any of that.

 Happy birthday Meme!

A little too small to dance, but I think she enjoyed the final ovation.

On another note, Eliza finally gained enough weight to move up a class and start wearing her G Diapers. Here she is showing them off:

Memorial Day in Madison

Eliza left MA for the first time for Memorial Day weekend, and after a longer-than-we-wish-it-was drive we had a lovely long weekend. And she finally got to meet her Uncle Torin who was home for a few days from Jordan!

While we were in Madison, Sean, Amber, and Noah stopped by to say hello:

(she looks thrilled doesn't she?)

Eliza also got her first of what will eventually be roughly one million trips to the beach at the end of Lee Way...though we're not sure she ever knew she was there - yes that's her, I swear.

Eliza had lots of fun with the family, and luckily got to stay for the whole week, until Meme's dance show and birthday the next weekend! (to be continued)
